System is running slow. svchost.exe is using 99% CPU
Hi, I'm using windows XP and since yesterday morning, my system is running very slow. I have looked in task manager and this svchost.exe thing is taking 99% of CPU. I have done a scan for virus with Panda Antivirus and a Malware scan with Malwarebytes. Both found infected files but it did'nt make any difference. On sunday, I was infected with the Security Tool virus (or whatever that is) but on monday it though it was gone.. I have seen on a fiew websites that maybe there is an issue (a bug) with the svchost.exe application on windows?? Please help! Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Your computer is still infected. Malware doesn't disappear all by itself without active work on your part. At this point you should get guided help at one of the specialty forums listed at the link below OR take your machine to a local computer professional OR back up your data and do a clean install of Windows. It is your choice. I don't recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#HJT-links http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
