System Restore missing from start menu and not working after upgrade from win98se to winXP Pro.
Remember - This is a public forum so never post private information such as email or phone numbers!I just up-graded to winXP Pro from win98se. After doing so I discovered there were not listings for "System Restore, Disk Cleanup, Disk defrag, Scheduled Tasks or System Info" tabs listed in the "System Tools" menu but the rest are. I also noticed there was not an App. Icon for "System Security" listed in the Control Panel. I Installed SP2 to try for a fix, but afterwards it only installed the "System Security" App. I located the "rstrui.exe" in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Restore folder but when i click on it, nothing happens.I am working on a Dell Latitude cpi laptop with a Pentium II 363 and 128 MB of Ram.
