System Image Problem
Firstly i'm running the win 7 beta on virtual pc. I would like to create a system image of my win 7 installation. When I go to "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Backup and Restore" and click on "create a image backup" on the left pane the "create a system image" window comes up. But when I select the "on a hard disk" option and from the box underneath i click "refresh" no hard drives / folders come up and I can't save to any location. How do you fix this problem?

Hi dr fireI have also found the W7 image backup to be problematic when installed on VPC.You should be able to simply share a folder on the host hard drive, assign it a drive letter and choose that as the backup location, but this does not always work. When I run into this problem, I simply copy the files (xxx.vhd and xxx.vmc) associated with the installation to a backup location. If you run into a disaster, you can simply start the VPC Console, click New and then Add an Existing Virtual Machine, point the wizard to the xxx.vmc file and re-create the installation in the state it was in when you saved the files.Hope this helps.
