I just upgraded my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10 yesterday and after I logged into Windows 10 I noticed that SCEP was no longer working. The option was listed in Programs and Features but when I went to install it a message came up saying the program was no found. I went to reinstall SCEP using the SCEPinstall.exe and it said it installed successfully but the program is still no where to be found.  My server is running SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 but I'm wondering if there is a certain installer version of SCEP that needs to be run to install on Windows 10?

SCCM manages the built-in Defender instance of Windows 10, so there is no SCEP client to install for it.

So, do the Endpoint protection policies still work with Windows 10 clients using Windows Defender? Is there anywhere in Windows 10 to view these policies / confirm that they are working and or present? Also, the ability to right click and "Scan with System Center Endpoint Protection" is no longer available in Windows 10... does it even have the same functionality now that it's "Windows Defender" ? 

I'm guessing there will be more specific answers to your questions from the product team at some point, maybe in the form of a blog post.

I can tell you with the limited testing that I've done, that policies will work the same way with Defender as they do with EP, and that you can tell policy is applied to Defender by opening the "About" dialog and seeing it listed there, just as you can in EP. Also, if you go into the Settings dialog (which is now in the new Windows 10 style) you'll see that the settings controlled by policy are grayed out and unchangeable (unless your policy specifies that settings can be configured by the user.) You can also look in the registry under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware.

The "Scan with" right-click menu option seems to have been removed. The nearest alternative seems to be using the custom "scan now" option in the Windows Defender GUI to scan a specific folder. You can also scan specific files via the MpCmdRun.exe command line interface located in C:\Program Files\Windows Defender. You might even be able to create your own custom right-click menu option that invokes MpCmdRun.exe to scan specific items.
