System Backup
Operating on Windows XP Home (5.1.2600 SP3 Build 2600) with Ms Office Home & Business 2010. I have an external hard drive where I would like to store a system backup from my laptop. Unable to determine how to make a backup - I've looked at System Tools but there does not appear to be a Backup option? Can anyone provide a helpful suggestion? Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

XP Pro (not Home) comes with a limited backup option by default.Although it is possible to use this same program (but with even more limited functionality) with XP Home, it is not recommended. In the event that you wish to try it, you would need to install the ntbackup.msi file from a Windows XP CD. For more information, see:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302894Or you could find this file elsewhere, for instance:http://www.winxptutor.com/ntbackup.msiThat being said, you would be MUCH BETTER OFF using a hard drive imaging program. Here are links to two very good ones:http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/index.htmlhttp://www.paragon-software.com/products/home/
