Sync Partnerships Show Disconnected While Mapped Drives Show Connected!!
Hi all, Does anyone know....Background: I'm using HP Home Media Server running WHS OS. I successfully mapped some of my network folders on my laptop running Win 7 Professional. I then created sync partnership by making those mapped folders be available offline. On the day I set it up, it worked just fine syncing my files both ways with my Home Server. However, starting the next day when I came back home and started my laptop, I started having issues with the Sync Center. Problem:Does anyone know why the sync partnerships status , under Sync Center, shows "disconnected" while the mapped drives show connected under 'my computer' ? How should I go about fixing it under Sync Center without having to disconnect my mapped drives and risk losing offline files? FYI, when I click on the mapped folders/drives to access my files, I no longer get the option to sync the folder from the right-click menu. Thanks

Hi Ardy, First, please test if you can sync your laptop with other device or pc. Your trouble may be caused by the WHS. As your concern, I would like to tell you that it won’t cause data lose if disconnect the drives, since the files are stored in the WHS. I suggest you to create a new network location as a test. Of course, you can disable the offline properties, and delete the Sync Partnerships, then re-establish a new sync partnerships. Good luck! John

It's a DNS problem. Make sure the server your share is on resolves to the correct IP. That was my issue at least.Asbjrn Vang Jacobsen
