Sync Center - I want to store my offline files, but not on my primary drive. Is there a way to set/change the default store location?
I have a machine which has the op system & programs on a smaller SSD & a second larger HDD for any large files/docs/pics/etc. I connect to a work server where all my work designs have to be stored & worked on (the boss insists,) however the server is glitchy & always going down so it is really usefull for me to have the sync set up on my files. I want to set up my Sync Center so that all offline files are stored on the second larger drive, however by default it syncs to my primary drive which isn't large enough to hold copies of all the data I am syncing. I only have around 4GB left in total on that drive! Any way to change the default offline file storage location? Thanks in advance. Marty

I do not suggest you sync the large drive. That is because the synchronization process will take long time if the data is too large. Since you mentioned that the network to your work place disconnects always, the whole sync process may failed when the network disconnects. You are able to make folders be available offline. Thanks for those links & the advise, however it doesn't answer my question. I can make folders available offline using the methods shown in the links, but it does not allow me to choose where the offline files are stored on my computer. I would still like to set some files to sync to my computers secondary (not primary) drive. The sync process might not be appropriate for a large amount of files/data, but for others I still believe it to be a useful tool. I don't sync the whole drive, I just pick & choose the files I am working on for that particular job. I've read those links & still cannot find information on how to set a different save location from default save location for the storage of offline files. Marty

Hi, I am also searching to find out more about where Sync Centre stores the offline files and would appreciate more information. BTW, conehed, I thought your request was quite clear and it is a pity it was misunderstood. Kind Regards, David

Yes! Looking for same solution. As stated before, the question is crystal clear, but the answer misses the mark. I also have a SSD and only wish that offline files were stored elsewhere. Keeps getting errors as there is not enough room on the SSD to sync.
