Switch on a remote PC

Hi all,

Could someone tell me wheter it's possible to create a script that send a WOL packet to the user's PC, in order to switch it on, when he/she logs on to the UAG portal? Is ther any application performing that?

Thanks

Hi,

that is not a out-of-the-box feature but Ben Ari desctibes one way to run custom code (but he is doing it for a different purpose).

Other approach would be to use a syslog server (http://sourceforge.net/projects/syslog-server/) ad define a filter with an action

or the 3rd option I see is to use the Windows Security eventlog.

I any case you need a wakeup on lan command line tool and the wol magic packet should not be discarded somewhere on the network.

I would start with testing the wol tool before figuring the other options.

Lutz
