Swapping windows 7 licenses
Hi AllI have a query, can somebody tell me the easiest way of swapping licenses between a laptop and a desktop machine?I have purchased both Windows 7 Professional and Home Edition. the Profession version came first so I installed that on my Laptop (bad move) now I have installed the Home Premium on my desktop and I would like to swap them around.does anyone know of a way to swap these over without having to uninstall both and start again?

HI you want Home edition in Laptop and professional in desktop. you need to do clean install on laptop because the downgrade is not possible. you can upgrade home edition to professional in desktop by inserting professional DVD in to desktop DVD drive, choose upgrade. try activating desktop and laptop by phone activation, if direct activation not possible. 1. Click the Start button, type "SLUI.EXE 4" (without the quotation marks) in the search box, and press “Enter”. Note: There is a space between "SLUI.EXE" and "4". 2. Select the nearest location, and click "Next". 3. Please click "Continue" and click on-screen wizard to activate Windows 7. regards Nikhil

thanks Nikhil, can you advise how this will affect both copies as they have already been activated....I am concerned that trying to activate the same license twice will cause a problem
