Supervisor password as opposed to administrator password
I am the only user on my computer and as such am also the holder of the "administrator" password. However, while trying to download the newest version of Adobe acrobat so I can print my tax forms, the content adviser popped up asking me for a supervisor password. It did not recognize my administrator password to be sufficient. If there is some unknown supervisor password out there, I don't know what it is. I have a similar experience when I first log on and my Weather Channel Desktop attempts to start up. Despite my amusement that The Weather Channel is just way too dirty for a 43 year old man to look at, this is really beginning to get annoying. Any ideas out there for resolving this?2 people need an answerI do too

I suspect that the request for password is coming from whatever antivirus/security program you have installed. Examine its options.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Thanks, Malkeleah. I contacted Mcafee and had a chat session. The tech there said it did appear to be a configuration issue with internet explorer, even though I browse with Mozilla. He said I should contact Microsoft or the person from whom I bought the computer. I purchased this computer a good five years ago so I don't really see me getting any help from Best Buy at this point....any other ideas?

And McAfee doesn't have a "parental controls" option? Does your Internet Service Provider? I've seen something like this coming from Yahoo Search Protection. Since you don't use IE, the request for password isn't coming from it in spite of the McAfee tech's statement.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
