Suggestions for further improvements of Windows Usability
Hi! Here are some suggestions, I'm convinced they would improve Windows: The Media Player should know much more formats, so that you don't have to install additional players. (And Media Player should be easier to use and clearer arranged.) It would be very nice, if there could not only be the CPU-meter-widget, but also a network-widget, that shows the currrent IP of the computer, the current up- and download speed (KB/s), the up- and download (MB) on this day, this week, this month, and a graph with two lines for up- and download speed. Many programs could be sourced out to Live Essentials, but I think the Mail-programm should remain in Windows by default. One of the biggest usability-problems with Windows isn't Windows itself, but the computer-manufacturers: they fill their computers with demo-versions, trial-versions, autostarts, other background-image, and so on... It would be much clearer and easier to use, if the pre-installed Windows on a new computer would be without all that. Just the clear Windows, like if you format the disk and install it new (not from verndor's recovery-CDs but the original CDs). The number of different versions is very confusing. Why not as it was years ago: one Home-version that is suitable for most (private) users. And one Pro-version that has advanced functions for professional users who want more. I think, many users would appreciate that. The system preferences (I don't know the exact name in the english version) is still too difficult to use. It should be clearer and easier to use. I think, improvements on these items would make Windows nearly perfect. Greetings, Finn
