Just a few things i have thought of that I think should be incorperated into windows 71a minimalist install: I would like an option to do a barebones installation of windows. No sample pics/music, possibly no media player, paint, mail, ect.. just what i need to use the os. I dont like wiping my machine only to have to go in and delete countless folders of sample media, backround images, screen savers and useless aps that im going to replace anyway, ie: windows live mail -> outlook.2More customization options. Why cant I change the start button image. why does it have to be a windows logo. Why not my cats head?? I already bought the product. You need not advertize it to me anymore. Maybe I want the start button on the right side?? maybe in the middle of the screen. 3 An updateable installation cd. Up untill vista came out(and even some time after) installing windows xp would take at least 4 hours on a fast machine with fast internet connection. This was due to having to download sp3, and countless other updates, as well as flash/reader. 4 Never take control of my pc. When Im writing a post such as this, and a download finishes, as it just did, the download complete window becomes active and i end up typing nothing. Nothing should ever interfere with what im doing. I am the administrator.I've been a fan of windows for as long as ive been using computers. I've tried mac, linux, and to be honest, I just like windows better. But still their are some things that are just plain stupid. Such as the above, and countless other things I run into. I will try to add to this. Why wont this*** thing work

I usually install my own software which includes a lot of Open Source software, and Microsoft can learn a lot from the Open Source Movement. Maybe not have Windows Open Source ("That would be like making public the formula of Coke." Me? I'm a Pepsi drinker.) but have an Windows 7 with Open Source software for those who are pinching their pennies.2. Oooooooooo . . . are you sure you want Microsoft to give us users _that_ much power. Imagine what some of our sick and demented minds would turn it into.3. Here's an idea: Have Windoes Update have a "Burn to CD/DVD" Feature, where all the updates are compiled into one disk which can be reinstalled with a single click. I'd have it so that you can burn a brand new Windows Install Disk, but that's as much asking to be pirated as the people who made Spore choosing such a restrictive DRM scheme.4. That'll be tricky, but Microsoft would take heed the irritation caused by a DLL jumping the focus to another window without warning.
