Suddenly I cannot connect to shared files on server
This is my problem I have a server running microsoft server 2003, two desktops, one vista 32 bit, one vista 64 bit, three laptops, two vista 32 bit and one xp. I have always been able to access shared folders on the server, and public folders on all vista machines. Out of the blue, I cannot access shared folders on the server or any public folders on any of the other machines from just ONE laptop ( mine of course ) All the other machines function fine, and all the other machines can still access MY public folder. The error I am getting is \\*devicename* is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. The specified network provider name is invalid.I am not a fiddler and I have not changed any settings on my laptop before it stopped talking to the rest of the network. It still backs up to the server everynight, and I can at least remote connection to the server, but cannot access any shared files. I have check and double checked permissions, and now I am at a loss. I have disabled firewalls, reinstalled connector software and went as far as restored the computer to a backup from the server from several months ago. Deleted network connections and created a new network connection. made sure all printer and file sharing is turned on on my laptop. PLEASE HELP!! I'm STUCK!!Thanks, Bob
