Stupid windows 7 permission issues
I have windows 7 Only one user me. I have hiden and protected files visible. Why is it that I cant access certain folders. I go to change permission at the root level and give full controll but no certain folders it tells me wont do. I try at that folder level nothing it wont let me says I dont have the permision. I even tried changing the attribute from read only to not read only using command prompt it said worked for windows folder but when I checked properties nope still checked as read only, when I tried to specific folder said access denied. How can I be denied anything if im admin level and only account on here. I even changed in group policy in MMC to make administrators run as system os thinking it might trick the system to thinking it was really the os making a change and not user, NOPE that didnt work. Im trying to access my c:\windows\boot and make changes but only permisions it gives me is read and execute. Will not let me give full control even when I try threw advance nada. Someone please advise

WHICH folder do you want to open? Some folders are junction points ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junction_point )."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi, The C:\Windows\Boot folder is a critical system folder. It is a junction point as Andre was mentioned and most of boot files are saved under it. To protect the system, it cannot be modified in the system. If you would like to modify some information, such as Bootmgr, you have to boot in Recovery Console. This is by default. Thank you for your understanding. Thanks, Novak
