Stumped by Driver Issue, any advice?
Hi there!
First and foremost if this question would better be asked elsewhere please just let me know. I upgraded my
laptop (HP Envy 6z-1100 Sleekbook) from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and some of the functionality on my touchpad died. Specifically the ability to "tap with two fingers" to indicate a right click.
According to Windows Update as well as "Driver Genius" I currently have the most up to date version of the driver (Synaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad), so I'm not really sure as to where to go from here! Really hoping I can get back that functionality
(I had in Windows 8) because I use it all the time! :P
Thank you!

Thanks for your response! I did just that (downloaded the most up to date version for Windows 8 from Synaptics' website) and was presented with this generic error (also ran in administrator mode): goo.gl/7JT4Sh

I have no idea what that error means but we can investigate if there is anything wrong with the system that is preventing the driver install by running a system file check
Please run a system file check (SFC)
All instructions are in our
Wiki article below...

Gotcha, thanks! I ended up having to "DISM /Online
/Cleanup-Image
/RestoreHealth" which completed successfully. Now that that is done, should I attempt to re-install the drivers?
