We recently updated 300 desktops from Windows XP x86 to Windows 7 x64 and are noticing and overall network slowness across all subnets and sites. Our network core is made-up of Cisco Nexus 5548 and Cisco 3900 series routers and all IDFs are connected over 10GB fiber and very fast high-end Cisco switches. Is Windows 7 just noisier or somehow placing heavier loads on the network? The new clients are much faster and have many times the RAM than the old XP boxes so all fo this is a little strange and unexpected. Has anyone else noticed this in a 2008R2 Domain?
