Stop windows explorer gathering data on recent places
Hi I pu this in the UI area but maybe it is beter off here.Is there a way to have the windows explorer stop gatthing a list of places I have opened on my computer and network? I don't find this function usefull and would like to stop the process either withwindows defender or mscofig.

opens IE -----tools----internet options---Tabs---setting----when a new tab is opened,open-----select" a blank page"then it's ok! cooler

Hi JerryRight click the Start Button and select Properties.In the Privacy section, remove the check mark from these 2 options.Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu.Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and Taskbar.Click the Customize Button. Scroll down and remove the check mark from the Recent Items option.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVP

Thanks, Ronnie. I was annoyed that the 'Recent Items' had disappeared, I use it a lot. I forgot about that detail in 'Customize', now it's back!
