You can cross this one off the list, I have found the answer for myself, as follows: FYI: The $Uninstall$ files in the Windows folder are blue because they are compressed. They are Backup files created by MS Update's Software Distribution Download, ie: Windows Update. That they are Backup files means the system has safely stored away a copy (if it hasn't, it will as soon as you hit 'delete' because it doesn't trust you to know what you're doing). Because I don't trust me either, I first checked to be sure the update files were in place under C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles.Your options for these $Backup$ files are: They can be left alone if you have the disk space, or safely deleted if your system is operating as it should and you do not forsee having to restore it to its pre-update status. After deleting, they should also be removed via Add/Remove Programs where they appear as a Windows Hotfix Files. If you get an error message, just OK and press on. Just be sure you do not delete the $hf_mig$ file--it is necessary for future updates, or the C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles that caused this issue in the first place and would happily do it to you again. The update that put your system's previous status into these Backup files also created Temporary Folders with long names consisting of random letters and numbers. They can be safely deleted as well, as can any old Hotfix files in the Windows Folder that have names like $NTUninstallKB123456$.I suppose you could just go to Disk Cleanup and let it do all of this for you, but this way you will at least learn something about Enemy Mine.Scate39
