Still shows old name when I re-map a network drive
I had a drive mapped and it shows up like this: myOldFolder(\\myOldServer)(Z:) I remapped this drive to another server, and the contents in the right-hand pane of the Computer window correctly show the contents that I expect. However, the mapping displayed in the left_hand pane has not changed. It still displays myOldFolder and myOldServer. I can't figure out how to correct this

If you are comfortable editing the registry than try this. Go to start and put in "regedit" (no quotes) Navigate to the following key > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints2 or it will be HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Map Network Drive MRU you should see under this key the drives mapped like ##somedrive##blah Delete these entrys > restart computer > and then remap the drives you want.
