Startup problem in Windows XP - BSOD
I think I may have a virus that has infected our Kaspersky-protected computer. I cannot run my computer in Safe Mode. When the computer starts up, it says: One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency . You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongl recommended that you continue. Windows will now check the disk. CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... File record segment 11828 is unreadable. File record segment 11829 is unreadable. File record segment 11830 is unreadable. File record segment 11831 is unreadable. File verification completed. CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)... 38 percent complete..... The computer gets stuck on this 38 percent completed part. I've run the computer several times and it always does the same thing. Like I said, I think the computer may be infected somehow.
