There could be many reasons for this. When you are you sure that the autochk.exe file itself isn't corrupt (type "sfc/scannow" at the command prompt), you may have changed something after the previous start-up. You could have installed a program pointing to a wrong location, you could have cancelled a program installation before finishing (leaving wrong pointers behind), you could have made changes to your partitions (invalidating some program references to specific locations), etc. Or you caught any malvire, virus, etc. When the error message says literally"?i program not found...", any program entries in the registry may be damaged. It's hard to decide from here. But fortunately, this type of problems is around since XP, nothing newor introduced byWin7.Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

If you have found that the "chkdsk.exe" is corrupt, you may insert the Windows 7 RC installation DVD and perform In-place Upgrade to repair the system.Arthur Xie - MSFT
