Start the wireless connection before Ctrl Alt Del
I have a windows 7 pro workstation that needs to be wireless because of the location in the shop. The problem is that when the workstation restarts, the wireless connection isn't available until someone physically logs on to the computer. We need to be able to login remotely when the computer restarts. Is there a setting that needs to be added? I don't know if it matters but it is a Netgear WNA3100 card.

I don't know the Netgear features software for the wireless card, but under the networking managment, select the wireless card, and bring up the properties, and then goto the power managmenet, and select the box that says "Allow this device to wake this computer" or something similar. Give that a try.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.

Hmm... Perhaps trying a Linksys wireless card, I personally don't like the netgear cards, they have been a pain to deal with.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.

Hi juicejug1016, When you start the computer, you need to login then connect to the internet, it's an expected behavior. The workaround I suggest is do not let your workstation enter into Sleep, keep it awake, then it won't lose the network connection.
