Start bar at bottom of page disappears.
When I get to my home page there is no start bar. If I go to another screen off of the home page my start bar will appear at the bottom of the page. If I x out of a screen and the computer goes back to the home page, I loose the start bar. If I press F11 and make the start bar appear on the home page, then it will not appear on the rest of the pages and it will also take away my menu bar at the top of the page. Any ideas on how to get in the middle?1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi ttrai,Let’s follow these methods and check if it helps.Method 1You may follow these steps and check if the issue persists. If you right click on empty part of your Taskbar > choose "Properties" > uncheck the Auto-hide check-box if it is checked.Method 2You may also run System File Checker [SFC] scan on the computer which will replace the missing or corrupt files & check if the issue persists.a. Type ‘cmd’ in Start > Run box. Right click on cmd in the Program list and then select the option Run as administrator.b. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannowFor more information refer this link.Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)Method 3I would also recommend you to run an online virus scan from the link given below & check if the issue persists. http://onecare.live.com/site/en-nz/default.htm?mkt=en-nzAdditionally, make sure that you have the latest update for the antivirus software installed on your machine, so that it works properly.b)You may also download & run Microsoft Security Essentials on your machine. Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.RegardsDebleena SMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

The auto hide check box was already un-checked. The sfc scan didn't do anything and I already have Microsoft Essentials. So, basically I still have the same problem. What should I try next?Tim T.
