Start, Charms and Windows Key stopped working in Windows 8.1

I have read these forums about getting the Start button and Charms back by hitting Win-C.  But that doesn't even work on mine. This started just Feb 2 when I downloaded the Windows updates sent out that day for Microsoft .NET4.5.2.  I have uninstalled that update.  At least that stopped the error message I was getting about Microsoft .NET Framework unhandled exception.  But my start, charms, and windows key on my keyboard remain unusable.  Any help?

Thanks,

Kelly M

Hi Kelly,

What is your current situation?

Have you tried to restart Windows Explorer through task manager?

If the above is still not going to work. Run the following command:

SFC /ScanNow;

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth;

Also check if you have any hardware driver update recently. Check at the manufactuer side and see if they could offer any helpful information.

Further, could you please have a share wit hthe update KB number, I will perform a test with that update.

Best regards
