Standby function failed about 1 year ago and I have been using hibernation ever since. Now this has failed what are the cures for these problems?
Windows XP, standby and hibernation fail to work, Please advise.1 person needs an answerI do too

On the General tab, click Selective Startup.Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and thenclick Disable All. Click OK. When you are prompted, click Restart. When the desktop loads, try to shutdown and restart again.
