Sporadic WL Messenger weirdness
Every now and then I get an alert on Win7Beta from Windows Live Messenger that says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert blah blah blah..." with Cancel, Try Again, or Continue options. Clicking any button causes the dialog to pop up over and over again maybe 20 times, then it goes away. Since it takes focus away if I'm working on something, it's kind of annoying. Also, the fact that it doesn't tell me what drive it's looking for is fairly annoying. BAD error dialog, BAD!

Hi Aaron This could be a Windows 7 Beta issue, or it could be a known problem with Windows Live Messenger. I recommend you take a look at the following website for any known issues involving this error message. Windows Live Help You can also access the following Live Messenger support resource. This is where the WLM experts answer questions. I know that many of them are using Windows 7 Beta. Windows Live Messenger Support Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP

I only ask as messnger has run long, faithfully and error-free on exactly the same machine with Vista Ultimate x64 (I dual-boot). I'll have a look throguh the messanger forums, but intuition tells me this is probably something to do with the beta... which is fine, that's why they call it beta software. ;-)
