Spooler service on Windows 7 RC needs a lot of CPU usage
I noticed, that the spooler service needs a lot of cpu usage. Even, when I dont print something. So I used to kill the spooler service in the task manager. The memory consumption of the service is increasing permanently during run this service. Has anyone else the same issue?

Same here. I disabled print spooler user command prompt.. I made 2 .bat files to start printing and stop printing on the desktop.. Start them as administrator whenever I want to print.Laptop Asus A6r (Cel 1,6Ghz, 1Gb mem) Brother MFC-210C printerPrinting using network, so no USB cables in use. Printing using HTTP://printserver:631/brother_usb_1. My server is a Linux server, so cups is used for printing.I didn't watch at the memory usage, so I don't know about that. But could be increasing. How do you connect to your printer?I found that if I print directly to the printer (my linux machine can spool the print job) the spooler service isn't hogging my cpu anymore, but on the otherhand I am disabling print spooling so this should work!

Hi, similar environment on my side. Brother laser printer connected via USB to a linux NAS box. NAS box is connected via LAN to my PCs. Printing using a similar HTTP URL as you. It doesnt matter, if Windows could find the printer in the network or I am anywhere in the world. I have to kill the spooler service 3 times during windows runtime, because the service will restart itself. So in my point of view there is a bug in the spooler service. Hopefully anybody from the Windows7 team will notice this thread.
