New impact printer models are available but driver support is unclear. If you are using a USB connection, maybe using Virtual PC will help as you can use Windows XP mode and see if that works any better. That or I can probably develop something that will work with Windows 7 given enough time. My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio. Our company produces spools of labels in sizes not supported by Windows for Epson LQ printers. To compensate our program does 1) direct the printing to a file 2) edits the file, stripping the header information and replacing it with information appropriate to our label sizes 3) Using the spooler API (writeprinter, openprinter, etc), the rewritten file is sent to the printer. We have successfully used this code for over decade, going back to Win 98. We now have some instances in which the data is getting hung in the spooler (step 3). So far, this has only occurred with Win 7 Professional. I'm stumped
