Spider Solitaire error
In playing Spider Solitaire (advanced), I received the popup saying "There are no more possible moves."Rather than ending the game, or undoing my previous moves and trying again, I simply continued to play. There were more possible moves, and I won the game. I did get the popup three more times, and I continued to ignore it.So, it seems there is an error in how Spider Solitaire determines if a game has possible moves, or not.Doc

I've noticed that the hints (press h or m during game to get hint) are considerably worse in Vista and win7 than XP, as if you get to a point in the game where the only possible move left before you must deal a row is moving a couple cards from 1 big stack to another big stack, which is a unnecessary move, in XP this hint for this move would not show, only deal a new row; by contrast in Vista or win7 this move would be shown and would not show the "deal a new row" hint until you moved the cards and did a unnecessary move. My point: the Vista and win7 card games, even though the graphics has much improved, the code behind it has gotten a lot worse. Have you tried re-installing Spider? (go to control panel, programs and features, turn windows features on or off, uncheck games, reboot, recheck games) Hello! No need to re-install. The game functions as it should, mostly. I have over 120 saved spider solitaire games that are one step away from winning. The point here is that I have played it a lot, under Vista and now W7 (and even more under XP, but I did not save those games).Of all the games I have played, I have experienced only two that I could continue to play, without undoing a move, and win despite the game telling me that there were no more possible moves. It is simply an error in the game's logic that determines if the game can continue or not. Sometimes, the player is smarter than the game. However, in reconsideration of this error, I now have to put serious thought into whether I move forward with W7, or not.<g>Doc

Hi DocIt's not an error in Spider Solitaire, it's just that you're smarter than the computer. <BG>Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
