Speech Recognition Error on Windows 7 RC
I have been experiencing some problems with my speech recognition program on my pc. Evertime i try to run the applicaion i get the message: "Speech recognition could not start because the language configuration isnot supported. The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the Speech RecognizationCntrl Pnl under Adv Options." And i dont understand why this error message is cropping up. I have tried changeing the system locale, the keyboard language defult, the location and none of it allows me to get around that error message. I have been able to get this to work successfully on my laptop. Here are my specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 6 GB Ram @ 800MHz 250GB HD Windows 7 Ultamite Release Canditate 64 bit OS Please help!!!

WyattJoh,What they mean is to go into the control panel, then into Ease of Access, then into speech recognition. Once there, on the left pane is a link to Advanced Speech options. If you get into that, there is a language setting. That setting must match the system's Region and Language setting (Just click the start orb and type region and language and you will see it).

Yes, i see that. Ive tried setting it to US under locale, this advanced setting box and under keybord settings. Ive tried that for them and it still has that problem.

WyattJoh,Did you happen to install any of the language packs from Microsoft Update? If so, you might want to uninstall them to see if this helps.

WyattJoh,I'm beginning to think so. I can't find it in the add/remove programs or theturn Windows features on/off, so it's not a simple re-install...

So it turns out that the Windows 7 install disk (64 bit) does not give me an option to repair my installation of windows. Ive tried booting and running in windows, i cant seem to fix the languages?!?!?

I'm so confused, finished installing what? Withers He finished installing Windows...DUH!, so his issue is resolved, i just revert back to a system image i created a few days ago, my issue is resolved, BUT, not until i did that because all this stuff above about getting Speech Recognition to work setting the language and that DID NOT GET IT WORKING, in fact nothing did accept to avoid the issue totally and revert back to before it happened with a reformat, reinstall, or revert to system image two days ago as i did... so there ya go, all fixed LOL argh!!! PeaceOut!
