Specific website not working

Hi,

Basically my computer is not allowing reddit to work. I have had previous troubles with getting my network to function properly (had to allow chrome and explorer to work manually through firewall), as well as disabling parts of malwarebytes for the rest of the internet to work, along with going into safe mode and deleting all files and reseting windows and chrome. But everything else works now, except for reddit.com. With Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. I do not use a proxy, and my computer is working fine besides that specific site. As specified i have also turned on and off the firewall for google chrome before so none of the quick fixes have worked, nor the deleting of caches and such. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello SomeonebadatIT,

Do you mean that you use Chrome to visit the website www.reddit.com and get the error code ERR_CONNECTION_RESET?

Please try to use Internet Explorer and check if we can normally visit the website http://www.reddit.com/ .

Please take a look at the following article about ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.

Hello support,

I am facing the same issue in my new activated Windows 8.1 (standard).

I have two MacbookPro, one has Windows 7 64b, one has Windows 8.1 64b. I can open any website in the Windows 7 machine (IE 11 and Chrome), but often have ERR_CONNECTION_RESET error in the new installed Windows 8.1 (IE and Chrome) when opening the same site - ie. bbs.d.163.com.

For comparison, I can open the bbs.d.163.com in MacOS very fast (safari and Chrome).

I installed every patch in Windows 8.1 thru Windows Updates. Same connection error happens all the time after I tried netsh winsock reset, changing MCU size, disable Kaspersky..

Since IE browser has the same error, I believe it's the bug in Windows 8.1 self, not a bug in a website.

Let me know if any patch out there.

thanks,
Simon
