Sound issue

This may not be a Lync issue at all. However, since the users reported that lync voicemails is not working it landed on my desk.

I have 2 users running Lync 2013 clients, both of them with exactly the same problem.

All sounds from the Lync client itself is working. All other sounds do not. (like playing a lync voicemail in outlook or other system sounds, youtube etc.).

Standard communication and standard audiodevice device is the plantronic headset (D-100). I can see the soundbar is moving, but no audio playing - besides the Lync audio.

We have alot of users with the same setup, same config and never seen this issue before.

It may have happened after the headsets have been disconnected, but not 100% sure on that.

Hi Tobias Borgen Nielsen,

As you said that it is not a Lync issue.

I suggest you can refer to the following article to troubleshoot the issue.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/no-sound-help#no-sound=windows-8&v1h=win8tab2&v2h=win7tab1&v3h=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

If it still does not work, you can post a question on Windows client forum, with the assistance provided there, it is more likely the issue can be resolved.

This could be something to do with the Sound card drivers n the machine. Have you tried UN-installing the sound drivers and re installing the drivers?. Or perhaps upgrading the sound drivers?.
