1. CachedLogonsCount in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
should be zero.
2. Enable
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\User Profiles\Delete cached copies of roaming profiles
3. Clear
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\
and local user profiles, if they exist

Click Start, input gpedit.msc in the search box. Press ENTER to open the Group Policy Editor. Then you'll find the

In case anybody else, including Miklos, could offer expansion on one unclear point, I repeat it here, and ask again! Help!
3. ClearHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\and local user profiles, if they exist
Could someone give me a bit more on what this might mean? Does it mean, for example, deleting any and all user profiles, both in the registry and on disk? Or something else?

That registry included all the user account in computer.
Check the right pane, double-click "ProfileImagePath", it shows you which user it belongs to.
