Sorry, something went wrong, and we can't get you into the meeting - SAA

Hello All,

Suddenly, for few users, Lync meetings are not working.  Error: Sorry, something went wrong, and we can't get you into the meeting.  These are recurring meetings.  If we re-schedule the meeting, it starts working fine.  This happened to couple of VIP users in the near past.

Kindly help.

Do you see any events in the Lync event logs on the Front End related to this?  Where does your meet URL point to currently?

Hi SAA-SAA,

The first troubleshooting step is to check the event logs on FE servers.

In addition, did you modify the meeting configurations recently ? (e.g modify the value of EnableAssignedConferenceType parameter)

Or did you move user to another pool recently ?

Best regards,

Eric

Thank you Anthony and Eric for your replies.

@Anthony - I tried checking the Event Viewer, but in vain.  The VIP users reported the issue after couple of days of occurrence.  Hence, I was unable to properly track the events in Event Viewer.  Meeting URLs are pointing to HLB Virtual IP.

@Eric - Few users were moved from one pool to another, recently.  Out of the affected users, couple of users were moved between Pools recently and few were not moved at all.

Any further suggestions would be of great help.  Thanks.

Two things.

When you move a user, please use the PowerShell and include the -moveconferencedata per

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398528.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Move-CsUser -Identity "Pilar Ackerman" -Target "atl-cs-001.litwareinc.com" -MoveConferenceData

If you did that, or new conferences also still aren't working, try finding an affected user and editing the hosts file to point the internal web services URL of each FE individually to see if there's a single FE that might be acting up.

Thank you.  This will be helpful.  I will try it and let you all know.  Thanks again.

Hello Eric,

No users reported this issue for the past 10 days.  However, we were unable to find the root cause of this issue.  I believe we are good to go now.
