Sonicwall SSL-VPN not working in Windows 7. Same client works in Vista
Netextender client 3.0.83 from Sonicwall cannot make a connection to our SSL-VPN 2000 box from Sonicwall. I have already posted a question on the Sonicwall forum and we've submitted a case for this. Can someone explain why it is not working in 7? This is a big disappointment since I'm testing outside office hours from home and now I cannot connect to our network.

Configure the program to start with administrative privileges by right clicking the program file or it's shortcut, select Properties, then Advanced and, check the box for administrative privileges.

Hello, I tried to make the program run as an adminsitrator but the problem is that with the SSL-VPN 2000 when you click on the "NetExtender" icon off of the portal page it puts it to a temp directory and immediately tries to run it.I've navigated to that directory \users\username\app data\sonicwall\cache\temp and selected/run as admin but it gets only so far and fails with a "file not found". Any other suggestions? I shut off the windows firewall as well, not sure why if I'm an admin that the program wouldn't run as an administratorThanks in advance.Rick Boyd

Hi Rick, This behavior is caused by UAC. With UAC enabled, all users are considered as standard users by system by default. If any programs need higher privilege, they need to get pass UAC to obtain administrator privilege. Have you tried QuestZones solution to set the program to run as administrator? If the issue is not resolve by it, I suggest that you check the ownership of the folder users\username\app data\sonicwall\cache\temp, make sure that you are the owner and have Full Control right.Arthur Xie - MSFT
