Some advice on continuous updates that install and reinstall over and over
This problem keeps recurring on my PC. I am running Windows 7 Home Prem - the following updates keep installing, then reinstalling every time I shut my PC down.
KB2487367 / 2656351 / 2468871 / 2533523 / 2600217
It started quite some time back and the research I did to try rectify really I didn't understand. I therefore reinstalled my op system and all was fine til a few weeks after and up came these same 5 critical updates. From the description some
seem to be unrelated to Windows 7 (my version is an upgrade from XP)
I would like to sort this out once and for all as it is driving me nuts. I can follow clear instruction, but I see a lot of tech advisors assume we humble users know all the terms and the special routines buried in the bowels of the O/s. If you
are gentle with me, I should be able to crack it.
Really would appreciate an end to this.
Thanks in anticipation - Keith

Just thought I would log in and say that with some unconscious competence, I have solved the problem described above (he says hesitantly).
I used the "Fixit" service, which I have to say I did last time and it didn't work.
Keeping singers crossed - at least PC shuts down in a minute now rather than half an hour like it was doing.
