Software upgrade problem
Hi I've recently upgraded my pc from Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and all has gone well. However I can only get a vga screen. Windows update tells me it has an important update - nVidia - Display - NVIDIA Geforce G210 (display drivers for 7 64 bit)When I run the update it tells me it fails - Error 80070005I have tried it in safe mode - fails just the sameI have tried subinacl - it doesn't seem to run with W7 Ultimate 64bit.I have created a new SoftwareDistribution folder and it still fails. What can I try next? (desperate!)RegardsBOB Hamill

A workaround is to download and install the latest driver fron Nvidia manually. Download the file from http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_196.21_whql.html and install it. When done Windows Update should no longer offer you the driver update.

It seems that Packard Bell has recent drivers on their support site, try to install them by downloading them from http://support.packardbell.com/se/item/index.php?i=CS178B00&ppn=PT.U250X.011

Hi Andreas I downloaded and installed drivers from Packard Bell site, and all seemed to install ok. But - there is no difference to system. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of drivers - when I go into setup screen resolution, it is the same as before - no sign of NVIDIA anywhere?!? Regards BOB

Firstly please open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, remove the program of the NVIDIA driver. Then download the driver from NVIDIA website and reinstall it.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Thanks everyone for help - but I was following some advice from NVidia and had to boot PC into SAFE with Networking mode. Whilst in there, I noticed that the drivers installed. I rebooted and everything was fine. phew! Regards BOB Hamill
