So after beta period?
If I install W-7 on a second Hard drive after the beta period I will only have to uninstall and reformat that drive, correct? No damage done to my other drives with XP

Right ! You have to format or re-install final bits of Windows 7 after beta expired and it won't affect any other drive and your data.
