Smart card Resource manager 1068 error
Hi, I got an error when i was trying to use webatm. I found that my Smart card Resource manager was unable to start. And i don's know if i installed wrong version of "Smart card base components" from the guide on the website. How can i reinstall/fix my SCRM services ? I'm using Win7 X64 Enterprise. Thanks for help!

But you didn't tell us anything bout your hardware specifics at all :) By default, the service is set into manual mode. It is the responsibility of any smart card driver author to set the service state of Automatic and call a predefined entry point in winscard.dll that will start the service. This ensures that the service is enabled when needed but is also disabled for the vast majority of users that don’t use smart cards. They are on a Vista system but the procedures for troubleshooting should be the same.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi,When did this issue first occur? If it used to work, try system restore first. What is the detailed error message? Is your device recognized from "Device and printers"? Check if there is any exclamation yellow triangle from "Device Manager". If so, find the latest driver for your webcam. You can tell us the model of your PC and webcam so that we can find it for you.Can you use the webcam locally without accessing internet? If the issue only occurs when getting online, open services.msc and make sure the following services are enabled:Application Layer Gateway ServiceNetwork ConnectionsNetwork Location Awareness (NLA)Plug and PlayRemote Access Auto Connection ManagerRemote Access Connection ManagerRemote Procedure Call (RPC)Telephony

Hi Magon_67, Thanks for replying me. The issue occurred few days ago. It was fine and was able to complete all the webatm progress before that. I don't know if the detail message is like "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start. " ? I have no webcam, and I didn't activate the system restore service. I'll go check those services, but isn't "Plud and play" the only service required for SCRM service? After reading a few discussions I tried: In command line, SFC /scannow; regsvr32 scardsvr.dll; but all in vain. When I try to manually start the SCRM it still show the same error message. Thanks again. Maybe I should reinstall windows 7 :X.

Hi,According to the error 1068, I suggest open the SCRM service propertise->Logon tab, in the "Log on as" section, input an administrator account and password and apply it to check the result. Are you using a software required by online bank?

HI, It's kind of online banking, I guess. I think it's a web-based service using ActiveX or something like that. I don't know if you cant read chinese or not but here is the link of user guide. http://netbank.esunbank.com.tw/webatm/Q&A_012.htm#14

Hi everybody, I have the same problem. Followed all steps above and still not working... OBS: sfc /scannow --> reports no errors Also: scardsvr reinstall --> Failed to start Smart Card Resource Manager Service. Service Process could not connect to Service Controller. Those are my communication with OMNIKEY Support (also failed to resolve problem): ----- Original Message ----- De: <Support@omnikey.com>, <support@omnikey.com> Para: Data: 26/03/2010 08:31 Assunto: {SPAM} RE: OMNIKEY Web Support Request Form Submission from hidglobal.com [ ref:00D8b9oY.50089QEeQ:ref Hello, in this case we would strongly recommend to run a repair installation from your original Windows Vista DVD. Best regards, Markus Jehle Dear Sir, regarding the logfile it seems the smartcard subsystem on your computer is damaged. You can try to repair it by executing the following steps: 1) Save the attached file (repair.txt) to your harddisk and rename it into "repair.reg", you will need it later. 2) Open an administrators console window and type in the following commands: Regsvr32 c:\Windows\system32\scardmgr.dll and press Return. Then type in: c:\windows\system32\scardsvr reinstall and press Return. 3) Doubleclick the renamed repair.reg file 4) Reboot the computer 5) Try to start the Resource Manager manually. To do this open an administrators console window again and type in the following command: net start scardsvr and press enter. 6) Please verify that the Smartcard service under Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services --> Smartcard is set to "Automatic" so that the Smartcard service is started automatically by the operating system every time the computer is turned on. 7) After restoring the subsystem the Diagnostic Tool should show "OK and running" in its Resource Manager status field and there should be a reader specific tab available If that does not solve the issue please run a repair installation from the original operating system DVD. Best regards, Markus Jehle

I had the same problem. I found this page: http://www.isabel.be/support6/en-US/websupport/direct.php?id=5993 and I unistalled smartcard service because I had nothing to loose. And then on http://www.isabel.be/support6/en-US/websupport/direct.php?id=5990 I reinstalled service and now it works. I also had the Microsoft Smart Card Base Components program installed, which i uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller Pro. That was the first thing I did. I hope this helps someone else.
