Slow startup after login screen
I know many people have been asking the same question, but I would like to provide every information possible. I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate for a couple months and never had problems with it. And now suddenly I do. My Windows 7 starts up really slow! I turn on my computer... everything happens... But then suddenly my system tray icons don't seem to want to start up and my computer freezes for a small amount of time. If I wait 5 minutes, I can work on my computer properly. System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit 2.9 Ghz Quadcore GTX 460 768mb 4 GB Ram DDR3 - I think these are the main things you would need to see if my computer actually would run fast. I noticed after the long waiting... My computer indicates that a new update has to be installed on shutdown. This update appears every time when I have my computer freezing! I took a couple screenshots of my system: http://i54.tinypic.com/eqnytg.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/255kjk0.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/betqgh.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/fb9t0x.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/2v2bmtk.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/2j0z5zp.jpg I already tried to reinstall my windows 7. I downloaded all the new drivers for my motherboard and vga. I also updated my windows 7, except the service pack 1 since it's optional. I can run my windows 7 good in Safe Mode. I've also ran a clean boot and it ran fine whenever I tried it. Can anybody help me? Sincerely Bjorn

In your 2nd jpg image it shows a lot of memory being dedicated to your graphics. 2529 mb. Is that normal? In the 5th jpg you have google updater, java updater and microsoft office starting which don't need to start. I would only have the needed things start up. Will give you a faster boot. You also might want to change your anti-virus to see if that helps.

Hi, If system ran fine in Clean Boot mode, this could be related to the startup items, you could try the following methods to find the root cause: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Hope it helps. Hi Bjorn, I bought a new dell laptop I week ago and it startes very fatst with windows7. After transferring all kind 0f software from my old laptop the follwing occured. The system runs well and ask for my password. After entering the password the screen turns black and shows teh desktop after more than a minute. I figured out the problem by disabling all the services in sysconfig screen, restart, see if the problem is stille there, enabling some services, see if the problem is still there etc.... I found out that the service "HP CUE Device Discovery-service" was causing the problem. So after disabling this my system runs fine again. Reading your problem I expect that you also have a service running that takes a lot of time and that you probably not need to run your system. Regards, Ben
