Slow network
After installing Windows 7 my transfer rate from my computer to my NAS on a gigbit network went from 25 MB/S to 6 MB/S. Very surprised and can't use Windows 7 this way as the backups take forever. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I experience very low transfer rate from internet, via a wi fi connection, while my other compuers on the network are as fast transferring as ever.

Windows 7 is just a release candidate at this stage, and as such should not be used in a production environment. If you need to be able to use backups quickly, you should either run Windows 7 as a virtual OS over an OS that works fine, or just use Windows 7 in its intended function right now, as a test machine. As for this issue, where did you install your NIC driver from? And do you have IPv6 installed?

With Windows Vista I had a similar problem and was resolved following this simply steps, try it, its only an idea... After installing W2K3 SP2 on one of my servers, the RDP session was awfully slow, especially mouse clicks. It appears that Vista TCP/IP "Receive Window Auto-Tuning " is the culprit. To disable it, open a command prompt(administrative mode) and type:netsh interface tcp set global rss=disablednetsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabledand reboot .
