Slow Network Copy
we are backing up out windows home server copying files over the lan to my windows 7 to a external esata drive max speed as per Teracopy 8-5 NB/s avg is 4.5MB/s Network config server Intell Pro gig - Crossover cable cat 6- reltek gig card to windows 7 machine each machine is amd 2 gig machine with a 2 gig of ramSteve R Gay, Jr.

Hi Srgsng25, You can try to take following suggestions from KB to troubleshoot this issue. When you copy large files to or from earlier operating systems, the copy operation may be slower than expected on some Windows Vista-based computersHope it helps.

been there done that made it slower was a wopping 4 mbs :( i am thinking about obtaining diferent cards and seeing the speed differencesSteve R Gay, Jr.

Hi srgsng25,-You may want to check to verify if "IPv4 Checksum Offload" is enabled. Usually server adapter carries these settings.-In "Device Manager", double click on your network adapter and select the "Advanced" tab. You may want to turn disable "TCP Checksum Offload (IPv4)" and "UDP Checksum Offload (IPv4)".Ifthe"Advanced" tab does not show these settings,then can you send us what the adapter is currently set to.Thanks.
