Slow Internet? Here's a Thought
Hi all...I'm David...and I live in a small town (1000 people) in Wisconsin.Last summer I started having issues with download speeds of items attached to emails in my various accounts...and trouble watching music videos on YouTube.I checked the webpage for my Internet modem...and discovered that they had changed my upload / download speed settings.I had complained prior to this incident...as things were unbearably slow (27kbs)...and they had adjusted it at that point. So their Cust Serv told me the 2nd time that I was paying for 320kb download and 240 upload...and that I had been getting MORE than that in those few months.I then explained to them that I wasn't even getting 1/10 of what I was paying for.The ISP service rep then gave me a link to a website that SUPPOSEDLY measured connecting speed...and then told me that mine was good.MY point to her was this. I was paying for 320kbs download...and getting 1/8 of that. So my question to her was in 2 parts.1st...what if you owned a company and your workers only did 1/8th of the work they were supposed to do?2nd...what if the company you were working suddenly decided to only pay you for 1/8th of your paycheck? They (ISP) made things bearable after that...but it goes to show what kind of BS* can happen out here in the real world.
