Assuming that your ISP hasn’t changed anything and that you haven't changed anything, say, your AV program, the speed should be much the same. However, here are a few things that may help. In no particular order, try: 1. These two registry key changes will make web pages display slightly quicker as the number of simultaneous downloads is increased. Create a system restore point before making the changes. Click the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and in the left pane navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings Look for two keys in the right pane, MaxConnectionsPerServer and MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. If they exist, then right-click on each in turn and Modify the value to decimal 10 (hex a). If the strings don't exist in the right pane, they will need to be added. To add them, right-click in the white space in the right pane, select New > DWORD Value, type the first name as the string name, press Enter and then repeat the procedure for the second one. Now modify the values to decimal 10 (hex a). As the registry key is a CURRENT_USER one, the change needs to be done for each user of the computer. 2. Turn off 'RSS Feeds' by going to Internet Options > Content Tab > Feeds and Web Slices > Settings and uncheck Automatically check feeds for updates. 3. Run Internet Explorer with no add-ons, i.e. click the Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If the issue doesn’t occur, it must be caused by an add-on, so go to IE > Tools > Manage add-ons and disable any unnecessary add-ons. 4. Reregister this dll from an elevated Command Prompt, i.e. click the Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Accessories and right-click Command Prompt, then ‘Run as Administrator’. Type regsvr32 actxprxy.dll (note the space) and press Enter.

Hi, BurrWalnut’s suggestions are worth to perform. If the issue persists after performing above steps, please also try the following steps. 1. Upgrade the NIC driver on Windows 7 machine to the latest one. 2. Bypass the router or switcher and connect to DSL Modem directly via wired cable for a test. If you can access quicker, please upgrade the router’s firmware. 3. Restart the machine in Safe Mode with Networking on Windows 7 and test the speed again. If the performance is still slow, I would like to confirm how you know the Internet speed on the machine, by certain software? Hope this helps. Novak
