Slent uninstallation of Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010

I have Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection installaed on WIN7 machine. I need to remove it silently (without UI). For that I picked up UninstallString from registry and executed it on command prompt as following:

"C:\Program FIles\Microsoft Security Client\Setup.exe" /X

After executing this command, an Uninstallation window appears. I tried with /qn and /silent parameters, but it won't work!

Are you using ConfigMgr? If so, then take a look here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg477040.aspx

(It will kickoff the AmUninstall.vbs)

Thanks for the prompt response.

I don't have configmgr. I have standalone remote client machine on which I need to send shell script to uninstall FEP silently (without UI)

I just read the script really quick, so maybe I missed something, but it seams to do someting with /u /s

Just did a quick test and "C:\Program FIles\Microsoft Security Client\Setup.exe" /x /u /s  Seams to work.

I looked in the script aswell and it copies the whole FEP installation to a temp directory and runs the uninstall from there, reason I don't know, but my guess is that if you run it from C:\program files\Microsoft Security Client\ the uninstall will still leave a couple of files like setup.exe and so on because it cannot remove itself.

But it succesfully uninstalled the client.

jörgen
