Skype to Skype for Business connectivity

Hi!

We have deployed Skype for Business (on premise), and the Skype connectivity is working flawlessly when Skype users are using a Microsoft Account to sign in.

However, when Skype users are using a Skype ID to sign in, we are experiencing issues, where we can Contact the Skype user, but the Skype user cannot reply.

The Skype user is not seeing the Skype for Business user as online, and in the chat field the message: "Messaging unavailable" is displayed.

The Skype client is version 7.6.

Is it a REQUIREMENT to have Skype users signing in with a Microsoft account to provide connectivity with Skype for Business users?

Best regards,

Michael

Yes

The Skype user must be signed in with a Microsoft account (formerly Windows Live ID).

Thanks, however since the release of Skype for Business, it should be possible to add Skype ID users, provided the users are using a Skype client which support Skype for Business connectivity.

As a note, I had the Skype user, delete the Skype for Business Contact and re-add the SfB Contact, only then it was possible to initiate a chat session / reply to a chat.

There seems to be some sort of problem when the SfB users invites the Skype user, only after doing the above is the Skype user able to chat with the SfB user.
