I reviewed all the posts as of today and have been trying to resolve the issue and it does not seem to go away. I tried deleting shared.xml file, made sure that the compatibility mode is not checked. The deletion of shared.xml file worked for a short time. Everytime I rebooted the system, I had to remove the shared.xml file. Now even that iption does not seem to work. As mentioned in one of the posts, i even tried to install the beta version and it did not help either. I have been using skype for a few years now. THe problems started happening once I purchased a new computer with win 7. I need skype more than i need win 7. May be I should replace win7 with win xp.\
