Skype for Business keeps logging out

Hello all -

I have been digging through the forums and I am not having much luck finding an answer to this.

We have 1 user that is using Skype for Business on a wireless laptop with Office 2013 64 bit.  Prior to the Skype for Business update, he was running fine.  Now that he has the update, when he logs in, it will automatically and immediately log him back out.  It will automatically try to log in again and usually have the same result.  Sometimes after an attempt or two, it will stay logged in.  Most times after many attempts (20+) it still won't stay logged in.

The only luck we had so far was uninstalling Office 32 bit and installing Office 64 bit.  Initially it was working until the Skype update again.

Other things I have tried:

1. Renaming the sip profile in the Lync folder

2. Creating a new Outlook Profile

3. Taking Outlook out of cached exchange mode.

4. Uninstalling and reinstalling Lync

5. Stopping all UCMAPI processes

6. Logging in with different credentials.  This actually allowed him to stay logged into it without issues.  When he logged back in with his credentials though, the issues started again.

7. Upgrading to Windows 10.  Issue still persists.

8. Uninstalled Silverlight

9. Uninstalled the graphics drivers and reinstalling them

10. Connecting from wireless not on the domain

Has anyone seen anything like this or have insight into what is going on?  I have looked at the logs and I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary.

Hello James,

This may be happening because of password.

can you remove the saved password from control panel and password vault.

If still issue persist then create Windows profile and ask user to user Skype for Business.

Thank you Balu.

I am trying the password vault and will update you with the progress.

In the even that it doesn't work, is there any way to accomplish what you are looking to reset with a Windows profile, without creating a new Windows Profile?

Thank you!

James,

What you can do is clean everything from password vault and windows credentail as well.

Are you facing same issue for Outlook as well. or only for Skype for Business?

Are you seeing this issue from your office and home network or only from home?

User specific issue or multiple user facing this issue..?

It is only happening for Skype for Business and only with one person.  They were getting an Outlook login error at one point, so that made me look at Outlook as a possible issue.

They have a laptop and a desktop.  The desktop works fine, but when on the laptop, they are seeing the issue.

They are seeing this issue when on our network or on their home network.

He removed every Microsoft credential and the problem still persists.  He is on Windows 10.  Can we create a secondary account quickly and without creating a new MS account?

Periodically, it will login and it will stay logged in and if he logs in as a different Lync user, it stays logged in fine.  Does this point to an issue with trying to communicate with the other MS programs on the system?

The end user ended up installing the Lync application from the Windows 10 app store and that solved the issue.  It isn't Skype for Business though, so I am not sure if/when they update to Skype for Business, that will create the issue again.  Is it possible that it could have something to do with the GUI?
