Skype for Business (office 365) - Exchange on premises communication

Hello,

We recently bought Skype for Business within Office 365. We don't use the other functions of Office 365.

We've got an Active directory server and an exchange 2010 server and 2 terminal servers. We've installed the directory service so Active diretcory is synchronised between the server and office 365. This works.

We've installed Office 2013 and use Lync 2013.

First problem: When I want to search for a user I need to fill in the complete username like test@contoso.com. When I just fill in test, it will find nothing.

Second problem: I've created a distribution group in Exchange. When a user tries to add this group. It is only added as a contact not as a group. I'm not sure why this is. is this because I haven't made a connection between Office 365 and Exchange. If so does anyone got a good instruction/whitepaper to do this?
