Hi all,

Regards,
Unfortunately, not at this time. You won't be able to send direct SIP messages from O365 Skype for Business to another provider unless they're also using Lync or Skype for Business.
Ok thanks. A real pity.
Seems like MS didn't think it through before releasing Skype for business. How doff that one has to run both Skype and SFB and the two cannot be merged easily.
They really are two separate products, and you're not the first to find the branding a bit confusing or wish there was tighter integration.
Then why re-brand it as Skype for Business (emphasis on Skype) and not just keep it as Lync? Still find it very odd.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
You're welcome. :)
Hi bruskie_,
Thanks for posting to the Lync forum.
For the past 10 years, Microsoft has invested in the transformation of business, disrupting the status quo with Lync, by simplifying and unifying all of the different tools people used to communicate for work. Connecting people across all of lifes moments to talk, to share, to collaborate is at the heart of helping people make the most of every moment. To that end, and for our business customers, we are bringing together the familiar experience and user love of Skype with the enterprise security, compliance, and control from Lync to create the most loved and trusted communications platform for doing things together.
Stay tuned for more updates on Skype for Business.
Best regards,
Eric
